Here at GSC, we strive to create an all-inclusive experience, particularly pertaining to breast care. From clinical breast exams and imaging reviews, to biopsies in the office and operative breast cancer excisions; we are a one-stop-shop for breast care.
From the initial meeting, your breast imaging will be reviewed and/or ordered depending on the need. A detailed history will be obtained and a full clinical breast exam performed, in order to assess your subsequent needs or risk factors. Whether referred by your Primary Care Provider for a palpable lesion or a radiologist after abnormal screening breast imaging, GSC will provide continuity of care moving forward.
A minimally invasive biopsy provides a definitive diagnosis when imaging shows breast abnormalities, often guided by ultrasound right in the office. With cutting edge breast biopsy techniques and innovative localization tools, we are leading the way in breast surgery. Collaborating with both Yale New Haven Health (Smilow) and Hartford Healthcare (Cancer Center) providers, GSC participates in biweekly multidisciplinary tumor boards to gain the most up to date consensus on your care from pathologists, radiation therapists, radiologists, surgeons, medical oncologists, and even genetic counselors.
At GSC, we have a close partnership with local Plastic Surgery practice, specializing in breast reconstruction. Whether a simple screening exam and imaging review, or extensive operative intervention, GSC is committed to serving our female population with comfort and compassion.
